RARE NEAR MINT INTAGLIO ENGRAVED REMINGTON-SMOOT #2 NEW MODEL .32 RF CAL. POCKET REVOLVER CA. 1870’S. Rare and in top condition. All original and matching with all the original nickel and all the case colors on the hammer. Mint factory pearl grips. Intaglio engraving on Remington’s is rare with it usually seen on Merwin & Hulbert revolvers. Often referred to as “punch dot” or “dot and scroll” it was a popular form of engraving done in New York in the late 1870’s thru the 1880’s. No records exist and could either be a small lot done for the factory or done by one of the New York dealers. 100% original in perfect working order and with a mint bore. Very handsome example.
