Hopkins & Allen Vest Pocket Single Shot Derringer
XL Vest Pocket Single Shot Derringer. Made by Hopkins & Allen, Norwich, Connecticut c. 1870-90”s. Although the H&A markings do not appear on the gun, the piece is shown on their advertising literature along with their line of revolvers and it is mentioned that they “are made in one factory”. 22 caliber rimfire. 2 ¼” round two-step barrel,
swivels sideways to load. Iron spur trigger frame; plated finish. Walnut grips; bird’s-head butt. Barrel marked: XL VEST POCKET. See Flayderman’s 8A-196.
Condition: Most of nickel, little spot of corrosion. Markings good, works fine, overall very good.
