Mauser G 33/40 (Mountain Carbine) Stamped "DOT" (Waffen Werke Brunn) Dated 1941, Cal. 8 mm, Ser. 6XX a.
Frankly, this is the nicest "ski trooper carbine" I can remember ever having and that takes in a period of over 55 years. All numbered parts match, the bolt, barreled receiver and the stock.
The finish is an 94-95% of the original factory blue. The butt plate and stock shield are in the white. Surprisingly there are no pits, rust patches or even pin pricks anywhere. The only rub marks, and they are rather scant are on the bolt which would be expected.
The receiver is stamped Eagle/63, Eagle/WaA63, and Eagle/ 63 on the right side. The left side is stamped Eagle/Swastika as is the bolt handle.
The stock is very smooth and may have been lightly sanded. However, there are no chips, splits, or dings other than some very slight surface marks.
The bolt rails, bolt face and feed ramp show little use.
The barrel is super. The rifling is razor sharp and mirror bright. Not a spot of frost the entire length.
The gun comes complete with one correct G 33/40 sling and the correct small front sight hood and cleaning rod. What a treasure, very early 1941 serial number, beautiful condition show piece and head turner on the firing line.........$3295.
