Very few of these double-action firearms survived. This antique revolver has a dark but shootable bore with much of its rifling intact. The gun opens via a twisting action to the side, unlike break-top or solid frame guns of the era. This gun also has a folding hammer. About 60% of the original nickel remains, leaving a balance of patinated bare steel. The grips appear to be original and unmolested. Even the original lanyard ring is still in place. The gun appears to be mechanically sound, but will over-rotate the cylinder if cycled abruptly. The gun should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing. All number match that are found on the trigger, frame, cylinder, and barrel. Sadly, the Hopkins and Allen factory that produced these revolvers burned down in 1900, destroying the old records. This gun was produced between 1887 and 1891. All items are also available for sale in our brick & mortar store and are subject to prior sale. Think long, think wrong.
