For sale, an antique Marlin Standard Model in .32 Rimfire. This original conditon antique revolver is a neat little piece and has a nice patina to it. Marlin started production on this model in 1872, even before their patent was approved. Over the next 15 years Marlin made approx. 82,000 of these popular revolvers in several calibers including .22 rimfire, .30 rimfire short, .32 rimfire, and a steel framed version in .38 Short. They offered multiple grip options and several finish options, and even ornately engraved models with fancy Degress grips. These were very polpular as self defense guns due to their small size and reputation as a well built revolver. In 1887 Marlin ended production of these single action Standard models in favor of their new double action model. This example is a nickel finish model with walnut grips, a popular combination at that time. As you can see in the pictures, it retains a lot of the original nickel finish and the grips are still attractive with no cracks. The action still works as it should, albeit with a little additonal play in the cylinder from age and use. The bore is average for this model, with visible rifling remaining but pitting running the length of the barrel due to the corrosive ammo of that time period. This is a neat little antique gun and would make a great addition to any antique gun collection.
