Description:
Fox Sterlingworth 16 Gauge Side-by-Side
1922, UNTOUCHED, GOOD DIMENSIONS

General Specs: Fox, Year 1922, 16 Gauge, 6lbs, SxS
Serial Number: 357960

Fox Sterlingworth guns in 16ga. are seen often enough.  Anybody who has watched the vintage gun market realizes that the 16ga. Sterlingworth value has been discovered, as they are all built on the diminutive 20ga. frame and handle better than most all other American built 16's.  The prices have gone up significantly with the nice 16ga. guns being bought up, thereby reducing the available guns on the market. Most will agree the Fox Sterlingworth 16ga. is the best value for a fine small gauge vintage American double in today's marketplace.  Balanced delightfully on the hinge pin and weighing just 6lbs., this particular Sterlingworth, sn357960 made in 1922, is better than most in that it was built during the early years with great care for wood to metal fit, checkering, and overall fit and finish.  The gun has seen use over the 95 years it has done its job, but has been well cared for, with no cracks or repairs, mirror bores, perfect screws, and the original butt plate.  Priced affordably, it is a great bird or clays gun for your rainy days or rough terrain and will function flawlessly as you enjoy carrying a piece of American history.  If you like a "pretty gun" this one is a perfect candidate for a full restoration, as it is all in great condition wood and metal wise.  Of course, that can be done through our shop for as little as $1600 added cost even with Turnbull case colors.
