Description:
Bought this Super Rare 17 inch  CS Shot Gun Bayonet altered to Bowie Knife out of the collection of Brian Akins from Rebel Relics. One of the pictures shows (source Brian Akins Rebel Relics) this knife with an original Cook Bros. Shot Gun Bayonet. This is the write up from hissite, "Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife.  This Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife was original a Confederate Cook & Bros. Shotgun Bayonet.  The Confederate Soldier probably got a new weapon and wanted to keep his bayonet.   Confederate Infantry weapons changed from the beginning of the Civil War.  I’m sure Johnny Rebel upgraded to an Enfield rifle musket.  Rebels don’t throw way anything just come out to my farm.  This Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife has had the lugs filed off and blade shortened.  The blade is a spear point.  Spear points are not good for skinning squirrels.  This Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife was intended for letting the air out of Yankees.  I truly love this Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife and you will too.  The brass handle is solid and ready for combat.  This is a very unique weapon.  There are not many Confederate shotgun bayonets period.  This could be the only Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife in existence.  Confederate blacksmith crafted Bowies bring $1,800.00 to $2,200.00 …. Here is an known Confederate Arsenal Weapon altered to stay in the fight.  I have added a picture of three Confederate blades.  One is a standard Confederate Shotgun Bayonet.  The second is the quite possibly one of one Cook & Bros side knife.  This Bowie was crafted from a brass handle.  The bottom blade is this Confederate Shotgun Bayonet Side Knife.  This picture gives an idea of the alterations the solider made.  Also, a factory version of the Confederate soldier’s idea.  Another World Famous Rebel Relics instant classic...
