Description:
PENDING SALE-This is an interesting piece. The elderly gentleman who owned it bought it new in the 1950s or 1960s to hunt Deer with his pals. Shortly afterwards, they started marrying off and moving away. He said this rifle has sat in his safe for at least the past 50 years!
The rifle is rigged according to the time. The scope is a Weaver V8 without internal adjustments. The adjustments are made on the rear scope mount, which has dials similar to a scope. The scope is still quite clear and bright. The sling is leather with the brass claw ends that fit in holes in the sling to adjust length...pretty cool old set-up.
Mauser affidocios consider the post war FN actions to have the best steel, even superior to those from Oberndorf, and they are sought after by gunsmiths for custom builds in modern high-power calibers. I don't know how much use this rifle ever received, as it is near flawless despite its age.
