Description:
A very unusual Herters Mark 3 rifle in 6 mm Remington.Built in the late 1950s,this rifle is built on a Mauser action with a 24" barrel.The rifle is stocked with a very highly figured piece of walnut with a monte carlo roll over cheekpiece.The gun retains 95% of the original blue and 99% of the wood finish.The bore is mint with sharp rifling and no rust or wear.The rifle has 1" rings and bases installed.This rifle was Herters top of the line at the time and competed against the early Weatherbys. It is a great value as well as a piece of sporting history.Those of us who are older all remember the Herter's catalog and all of the wonderful hunting and fishing items we could only dream of owning and using.C&R eligible.
