Nice 1920 vintage Colt Single Action Army fitted with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, checkered black "Rampant Colt" hard rubber grips, is blue/color case hardened finished, and chambered in .38 W.C.F. (38-40). The barrel retains 80% of its original blue finish, the ejector rod housing retains 60%, the numbered to the gun's cylinder retains 50%, and the trigger guard and back-strap (which also number to the gun (stamped inside the grip)) retain about 40%. The frame and hammer retain just traces of their original color case-hardened finish, with the rest turning a please brown/grey patina. The numbered to the gun grips are in very fine condition, with sharp checkering overall, with no cracks or chips, and fit very well. The bore is bright, with good rifling, is very shootable even though there are some spots of corrosion. The action functions great, even has a very good lock-up. Comes with a factory letter verifying the caliber and barrel length and shipment to Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri, May 26, 1920. If your looking for a 1st Gen SAA to shoot, this would be it, especially if you like the 38-40 cartridge.
