Description:
Late 1st or early 2nd year 5 Screw Pre War Heavy Duty Hand Ejector 38/44 Serial #39xxx ( 1930-1931 Vintage). Great condition for a gun this old. Blue is mid-hi 90's% with minor muzzle wear. 38 S&W Special Cartridge on right side of barrel. SMITH & WESSON marked on left side of barrel. Dec 29 ,14 Last patent date on top of barrel. Small S&W Trade Mark Logo partially under early target grip ( Not sure if these are the original grips, Very Early). Really clean gun. While inspecting the grips for serial number, I noticed S and small square on lower end of back-strap and the date 11 28 66 on the lower end of the front strap. I checked with the S&W association and they said that the markings on the gun denote that the gun was sent back to S&W but could not tell me for what reason. Regardless, this is a great specimen. These are fairly rare guns in any condition. FFL or C&R required. Thanks for Looking.
