For sale, a very nice original Stevens Model 311-D double chambered in the sought-after 20 gauge with 3-inch chambers. This classic American double barrel is in excellent condition overall and is perfect mechanically. It has 28 inch barrels that are choked "Modified" and "Full", double triggers, and extractors. The length of pull is 14.5 inches from the front trigger to the end of the buttplate. This Stevens 311-D has been used very, very little. The case colored receiver retains 96% of the factory finish. The case colors are still very defined and attractive. The 28 inch barrels are finished with a gloss blue and retain 97% of that original finish. The bores in both barrels are very minty. They are bright and clean, with no pitting, erosion, or bulges. The factory original matted solid rib that runs the length of the barrels is nice and tight to the barrels with no wiggle. The action locks on super tight and is completely "on face". This model came with an automatic safety that returns to the "Safe" position after opening the action and it works perfectly on this example. The triggers are pretty nice in this shotgun, they are not too heavy for most shooters but require enough pressure to reduce the chance of an accidental discharge. The factory stock set on this 311-D is 100% solid, both the forearm and buttstock are free from cracks or repairs. It came from the factory with some pressed checkering and a brown stain/varnish combination. This finish is flaking off in places as you can see in the pictures, but could be refinished by someone with basic woodworking skills and made to look much more attractive. The buttstock is capped with the original factory ribbed black plastic buttplate with a white spacer. It is also in great shape and was fit nicely to the stock. If you have been looking for a nice affordable American double barrel in 20 gauge this is your chance to get one in excellent shape overall that hasn't been fired or carried in the field much.
