Description:
Serial #400754, .30-40 U.S., 30" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that has retained 92-95% of the original blue along the barrel and receiver with some very mild fading along a few of the high edges and some minor graying at the muzzle. The magazine door has a thin film of mild freckling over the original blue. The bolt has some plum-brown freckling on the original armory bright finish, darkest on the handle, but most of the original bright fire blue remains on the extractor. The rifle is equipped with a Model 1902 rear sight that matches the condition of the rifle, and the walnut stock and handguard are in fine condition with only minor handling marks and a few small blemishes marring the original oil finish. There is a crisp “JSA/1902" cartouche on the left side of the wrist. The steel buttplate has nice original blue still remaining, although the balance of the metal has a lightly mottled patina, and a segmented cleaning rod is present in the stock trap. This is an excellent example of a late model U.S. Krag-Jorgensen, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
