Description:
This is a mint condition 20ga Browning Superposed 2 barrel set. Includes 28" and 26.5" barrels. It is the "Fighting Cocks" Grade III Funken engraved and serial number puts manufacture year at 1956. The bores are bright and perfect. The top lever is still well right of center and the barrels are still nice and tight on lockup. The wood checkering is still sharp and crisp. There are a couple of very minor handling marks on the wood but the gun was obviously used very little over its 60 year life. The engraving is excellent and the french grey receiver still looks new. The barrel blue still shines smooth with just some slight rub marks on the 28" barrel from the forestock sliding during removal. The gun has a white line pad that does show its age as the rubber is cracking. The barrels chokes are marked Imp/Mod 26.5" and Mod/Full 28". I shot one box of shells thru it when I bought it 15 years ago and it has sat in my safe ever since. LOP measures 14.25 to the white line pad. The pictures from my iphone really don't do it justice. I'm putting it up for sale after talking to a couple of high end gun dealers who have offered to put it on consignment at price significantly higher than I'm asking.
