Description:
.69 caliber, 42" lacquer brown barrel dated 1829 and bearing U.S. arsenal proofs. The lock marked Springfield and dated 1829 with the eagle over the U.S. Iron mounts. Walnut stock with two excellent U.S. inspector's cartouches. In superb original condition retaining nearly all of the lacquer brown. The lock showing all of the arsenal casehardened finish. Very fine wood with some storage marks and dings most notably on the left stock flat opposite the lock. Very scarce in this high condition.
