Description:
Factory Engraved Weatherby Custom Crown Grade Mark V Bolt Action Rifle with Scope
Condition: Excellent.

This is a very fine example of a West Germany manufactured Crown Grade Mark V Rifle, Weatherby's best grade rifle and available on a custom order basis only. The 24 inch barrel was manufactured without sights and features factory floral scroll and punch dot engraving extending from the center point to the breech. Standard caliber and "MADE IN W. GERMANY" markings on the sides of the barrel. The factory engraving extends to the receiver, bolt shroud, hinged floor plate, and trigger guard. The floor plate, trigger guard and sling swivel studs have a brilliant gold washed finish, and the floor plate features a raised gold moose against a mountainous wooded background. The receiver has standard Mark V markings. The receiver is fitted with engraved scope bases and rings with a Weatherby Variable 2-7x scope.  The scope is very good with some small scratches and dings, optics are bright and clear. Fluted bolt and jeweled follower, serrated trigger, and knurled bolt handle.  Retains 97% plus original blue finish remains with some scattered light handling marks, cycling marks on the bolt body, and the receiver and bolt shroud taking on a distinct plum hue.  Mechanically excellent.

Mounted on an exhibition grade pistol grip stock with rosewood forend and grip cap, a contrasting diamond insert on the grip cap, a cheekpiece and a vented factory recoil pad. A fancy carved floral pattern is present on the forearm and grip area and a contrasting diamond pattern is featured on the right side of the buttstock.
The stock is fine with a freshened coat of varnish, crisp checkering, sharp floral carving and a few small dings visible.
