Description:
A very unusual Herters Mark 3 rifle in 6mm Remington.Built in the late 1950s on a Mauser action,this rifle competed with the early Weatherbys and other custom rifles.This rifle is in excellent all original condition retaining 95% of the original blue and 99% of the original wood finish.It has a 24" barrel with a mint bore.The wood is very highly figured and has a roll over checkpiece.The forend and grip cap are ebony.The rifle has bases and rings installed and the bolt has been altered to accomodate a scope.This was Herters top of the line rifle at the time.Many of us old timers can remember getting the Herters catalog and dreaming of all the hunting and fishing gear they offered.This is a piece of American sporting history and a fine hunting rifle to boot.C&R eliglble.
