Description:
This model is a favorite among European Box Pigeon shooters. It is fast handling
and indestructable (see Michael McIntosh's BEST GUNS, pp. 234ff.) It features
a high rib and a palm swell in the pistol grip. Its 28" barrels are equipped with 9
Briley tubes: Full, Mod, Lt. Mod; I.C., Skeet (2), I.C. (2), Cyl (2). LOP 14 1/2".
This gun goes anywhere and does everything. It remains in excellent overall
condtion.
I discovered the differences between this action design and the time-honored
double underlocking lugs by accident. Marocchi's Contrast model, similar to
Perazzi's, locks up between the two chambers, resulting in a much shallower
action and contributing significantly to balance and smoothness of mounting.
It also features coil springs for the firing pins, all within the action. They don't
break or accidentally eject when the action is opened, as sometimes occurs
with Perazzi's trigger-plate mounted system.
