This is a Colt Detective Special made in 1947 Ser.# 490,948,a transition detective special. I has the early pre war frame with the pre war barrel and half moon site. it has pre war grips ,checkered trigger and early hammer. the cylinder release is of the post war kind with out the knurling. a one line address on the barrel. topstrap like the pre war guns. Its in very nice condition and locks up great in single or double action. The bore and cylinder are excellent. It retains a high % of its original finish . There are a few places where its been handled and shows some wear. It also comes with a Colt factory letter. All in all its a nice example of a Colt snubby in very nice condition .
