#99462, Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf a/n: A Commercial Mauser Sporter Type A 9.3x62mm Made either in 1928 or 1929, 27 1/2" Barrel, Band front ramp with a sight protector, Barrel band sling eye, 5 leaf Type A express sights, Knurled receiver ring, Hinged floorplate with a trigger guard bow release, Standard trigger, Correct pear shaped bolt handle, The receiver ring and bridge were never drilled or tapped, Every serial number everywhere matches including the stock, The Type A stock with very nice color and contrast, Cheekpiece, Bakelite type grip cap, Sling eye on the buttstock line, Horn forend tip, Wrap around point pattern checkering on the grip & forend, A nice piece of wood with a lot of fiddleback, 14 1/2" LOP over the original buttplate with the Mauser logo, 8 Lbs. 6 Oz., The blue overall remains at 84-86%, The stock has been re-oiled and now at 96%, The checkering is at 96%, The bore is very good and should have a lifetime of shooting ahead of it. The gun is listed in Jon Speed's "Original Oberndorf Sporting Rifles" as a Type A and listed as a 9.3x62.
