Along with the U.S. Model 1861 and Enfield 1853, the Lorenz represented the last hurrah for the mainstream military use of the percussion musket. The M1861 was the most used small arm of the American Civil War, followed by the Enfield 1853, and then the Lorenz. According to estimates, the Union imported over 200,000, while the South brought in 100,000. The Lorenz was originally manufactured in .54 caliber, but rebored to .58 when imported to the United States. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are very dark with age. The stock has a repaired crack at the wrist and under the butt. The bore is rifled and untouched. The action is functional. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 37-1/4 inches in length. Caliber: .58 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
