Description:
The Colt 1849 Pocket Model was made from 1850 to 1873 in the serial range 12000 to 340000. The 5-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 3, 4, 5, or 6 inch octagon barrel, most with loading levers, blue metal with case hardened frame, lever and hammer, grip straps of brass (silver plated), or steel (silver plated or blued), stage hold-up scene on the cylinder, and .31 cal. percussion. This 1855 vintage gun is as described and is fitted with a 5 inch barrel and brass grips straps (silver plated). The gun is in good condition, retaining small traces of its original blue and silver plate, mostly turning a silver/dark grey patina. The bore is rough but the action functions well and has a decent lock-up. The one piece wood grips retain 80% of their original finish, fit perfectly, and have no cracks or chips.
