Description:
Colt Detective Special, Mfg,1941 Ser# 474,017 Parkerized finish, 2'' Round butt. This piece is solid and tight as new. Minty Bore and cylinder, nice grips, Locks up perfect in single and double action. Nice screws and mechanically solid. Bobbed hammer is sharp and easy to cock with your thumb. I fired it onee and is very smooth and accurate. Great shooter. There is a Colt Factory letter with it. The ser# is in the military range but seem not to be military marked . It was sent to a Frank B. Hill in Nashville Tenn Feb 16 1942. During the war I dont believe guns were shipped to dealers or civilians. He may have been it the service? I researched Frank ( I have a picture of him) the best I could and found out he was a shooting instructor and possible a flying instructor with the Civil Air Patrol during the war. They helped protect us during the war also. How this piece got parked or bobbed is unknown. I think its a cool gun and could be full of history. A neat little gun to own .
