What a find, magnificent condition, first block of the very last year before the stock lug was added. From 1914 to the end of production every P-08 made for the German military had a stock lug, even though they stopped making stocks in 1918. Curious don't you think?
This Deutsches Waffen und Munitionsfabriken Luger is in super condition. It looks like it just sat out two wars in trunk somewhere. The remaining blue is, at worst, 99+%. Some very minimal sharp edge and muzzle slivering. Less than usual on the sideplate wear and the ever-present safety lever scratch. That's it, not a spot of rust, no pinpricks or rub marks anywhere.
The grip straps show no sign of graying. The right side of the slide is stamped Crown/X, Crown/Q, Crown/F, Upturned Eagle. The left side of the bolt is also stamped Upturned Eagle.
The checkered wood grips are almost flawless. No chips, no scratches or splits. There are two or three slightly flattened points on the right from resting on its side all those years, though they are hardly noticeable. The grips screws appear as if they just came off the assembly line yesterday.
All numbers match, including the grips. The bolt face, slide rails, and feed ramp show no evidence of use.
The bore like the rest of the gun is pristine. It is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. There is not a hint of frost anywhere. It is doubtful this gun has seen any use since it was test fired. The gun comes with one proper unnumbered wooden based magazine stamped Crown/B. If there is a nicer one out there it is probably in a museum. An easy collection center piece........ $2695.
