This .45ACP "Enhanced" Colt MkIV Gold Cup National Match 80 Series 1911 in bright stainless is a real beauty! It is like-new, appears unfired, and is in the original box/case complete with all the paperwork and inserts. It has the sought-after factory bright stainless finish that is like a mirror (factory polished stainless steel), and was further optioned out with the "Enhanced" package. This "Enhanced" version of the National Match has several extra options that set it apart from the standard model Gold Cup. These options are an extended beavertail grip safety, an elongated commander-style hammer, and an extra-wide serrated target trigger. This model was the top of the line for Colt in their 1911 series of pistols from 1983 until 1996. This particular example was likely made sometime during 1993 in the last few years of production. These National Match Gold Cups were built with the very best parts Colt could produce or in-source, match grade barrels, hand fit bushings and small parts, hand fit slides and frames, lightened and tuned target triggers, and Elliason adjustable target sights. They were known for their excellent accuracy right out of the box and were "THE" choice for serious target shooters all over the country. This particular model variation is no longer offered by Colt and has become very collectible. They have appreciated quite rapidly in value and appear to be a wise investment for the foreseeable future. This Gold Cup National Match "Enhanced" would be an excellent addition to any Colt collection, and is in such minty condition it would be impossible to upgrade.
