Description:
This Hi Power was made in 1990 when FN was still putting the high polish blue finish on their pistols. It is a much more attractive and desirable finish than the matte black you often see on Hi Powers from this vintage. It has a stainless steel barrel and an original adjustable rear sight with a serrated front blade. This model also came with an ambidextrous safety and nicely checkered Walnut grips. This pistol is in excellent condition with 98% of the original gloss factory blue finish remaining. It has some very small handling marks visible only under very close observation, and there is one small spot where the finish is gone on the backstrap (see close up picture of this spot). The bore in this Hi Power is minty, it's bright and clean with sharp rifling and no signs of pitting or erosion. The checkered Walnut grips are also excellent with crisp checkering and nearly perfect varnish. Both grip panels are free from cracks, chips, or repairs. These older Browning Hi Powers are excellent shooters and quite collectible, and this beautiful example would be a perfect addition to any firearms collection. We have been told that Browning is discontinuing the Hi Power model and if that is true, we expect to see an above-average jump in the values for these pistols soon.
