Description:
For sale, a nice original 1960 Belgian Browning A5 Model in 16 gauge. This A5 has a 28 inch barrel that is choked modified (2 stars). This A5 is a very nice example with dark glossy original factory bluing and a bright clean bore. This shotgun has been carried and shot, but has certainly been well cared for and has a clean look to it. The metal parts under close examination show some light high-edge wear, some thinning of the finish on the lower tang, and some very small handling/storage marks, but nothing that detracts too much from the overall appearance. The original checkered and varnished Walnut stock set is also in good condition. The stock set is free from cracks, breaks, and repairs and is 100% solid. There are placed where the varnish has chipped and/or spider cracked; very common for this model manufactured during this time period. It is not indicative of the gun being used hard, rather it is a result of the adhesion of the finish breaking down over time. The original factory horn buttplate is still present, but does have some beetle damage as you can see in the pictures. Mechanically this Belgian Browning A5 is perfect and everything works 100% like the day it left the factory. The internals are clean and show no signs of wear or corrosion. This is a nice original 16 gauge A5 that could be carried in the field with pride.
