Description:
This Model 1887 was manufactured in 1888, the second year of production.  Overall it is in good condition with a smooth brown patina on the metal.  The original walnut stock has a length of pull of 13" over a replacement buttplate and barrel has not been shortened, like many we see, and is a full 30" long.  The bore is rough on this example, but mechanically this 1887 Model functions perfectly. Winchester claimed that this was the first "successful" repeating shotgun, and along with the Model 1897 pump gun started the decline of the double barrel shotgun sales.  This Winchester Model 1887 shotgun would be an excellent addition to any early American/Cowboy gun collection, or would equally be at home hanging over a fireplace or as a decorator.
