Description:
Winchester Model 21 16 Gauge Side-by-Side
FIELD GUN, ALL FACTORY FINISHES, M/F, 28”

General Specs: Winchester, Year Mid 1930's, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 10oz, SxS
Serial Number: 6029

Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself.  The Model 21 is an American icon and its reputation is well deserved.  A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized the Winchester Model 21 in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN.  With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. They made 5 times more 12 gauge guns, and almost 3 times as many 20 gauge guns, than 16's.  From 1930 to 1982 they only made 1500 or so 16 gauge guns in all grades, most of them Standard Grades or Skeet Grades.  Most realize the superior ballistics of the 16ga. for upland birds compared to the 20ga. and readily choose the 16.  This fine Model 21 Field Grade, sn6029 built in the early 1930’s, is a very special gun in that it remains in all factory original condition with no restoration.  It has been carried and hunted, the metal shows only normal wear, with 95% factory original barrel and receiver blue, and the wood has had finish applied some time in the past.  The 28” barrels are hard to find factory M/F choked, perfect pheasant chokes and late season grouse chokes.  LATE SEASON PHEASANT HUNTERS…SINGLE TRIGGER AND TIGHT CHOKES FOR BITTER COLD DAYS WITH GLOVES AND LONG BIRDS.  VERY FEW MADE LIKE THIS, SO DON’T MISS OUT!  The lettering stamps are crisp, the wood to metal fit superb, the bores are mirror new, and the barrels are tight on breech face and hinge pin like a new gun with the lever right of center.  Mechanically excellent in every way, the gun is ready to break clays and down birds for another 80 years with no problems.  The Model 21 is a very desirable Winchester and makes a great investment for your hard-earned money while you enjoy its use.  Thanks for looking!
