Colt Detective Special MFG in 1929 shipped jan 3rd 1929 possibly indicates the piece was made in 1928. An early example of a D.Special. Ser# 378,146. comes with a Colt Factory letter. All original finish , aprox 90% ++? A little holster wear sharp edge wear and some very ,very small pitting in some of the flutes thats hard to notice .Some of the very early guns in the 1929 and 1930 examples have a little different color on their cylinders,I have had many 1930 's with this charecteristic.Not before or not after 1930. This piece does have a slight difference but is hardley noticable .Its still a very nice looking piece with no scratches or noticable rubbs or dings on the frame or barrel. Front and back straps are very good as well as the bottom of the but. The grips are nice and have the usual wear for a 81 year old revolver. It locks up very nice as it should in single and double action. Minty bore and cylinder. very clean hammer. checkered hammer serated top strap ,2 line correct address on the barrel.
