Description:
Browning added the lightweight "Sweet Sixteen" to their production line in 1953; this example was manufactured in 1957. Typical of the early period guns it has a rounded knob on the pistol grip and a dark reddish-brown stained Walnut stock set. The matted rib barrel is 28 inches long and choked "modified". The bore is excellent, mirror bright and free from dents or bulges. This Sweet Sixteen has been used and carried in the field, but not abused. It is 100% original in every way with the original factory blue finish rating 90%. The metal parts show some high edge wear, some very minor handling marks, and some thinning of the finish at the balance point and on the tangs. There are patches of gold finish left on the trigger in the more protected areas. The original checkered Walnut stock set is 100% sound and free from cracks or repairs. The stock set shows typical wear and tear of a shotgun carried in the field. All of the scratches and dings and dents are cosmetic only. The buttstock still has the original "FN" branded butt plate attached which is also free from cracks or repairs. Everything works on this gun 100% like it is supposed to. This is a nice "untouched" original Belgian Browning Sweet Sixteen that anyone would be proud to carry afield or to the range.
