Description:
Cal 50. 7-1/2" bbls engraved “L. Alley Dublin Fecit” on top ribs. A very rare pair of flintlock double-barreled dueling pistols signed by Dublin Ireland gun manufacturer Lewis Alley. Each gun has a walnut stock with finely engraved steel mounts. The guns, along with the the steel bullet mold, are encased in the original box bearing the trade label of Wm. and Jn. Rigby. Pistols fit well into the case. Wood on the case is very good. Lining is worn. All metal parts have been cleaned to a pewter color. Engraving is still very visible. Stocks have wear to original finish. Steel crest plates have been fitted for removable buttstocks which are not present. A unique cased pair of Flintlock Pistols from the late 1700's.
