SUPERIOR PENNSYLVANIA KENTUCKY STYLE PERCUSSION FULL STOCK HEAVY BARREL TARGET RIFLE BY JOHN FLEEGER OF PITTSBURGH CA. 1850’S-60’S. 57” o/a with 40” octagon .50 caliber rifled barrel engraved in large script “JOHN FLEEGER” and on the side stamped “ALLEGHENY”. Tiger maple stock with checkered wrist and finely carved lower border on both sides of the butt. Fine scribe lines along forend. Finely engraved brass patch box. Engraved lock and hammer. Single set trigger. Rail tang sight with windage adjustable disc aperture and elongated globe front (missing post). 4” elevator barrel sight.Fine condition overall and with excellent plus, bright bore with very crisp rifling. Trigger in working order. Original hickory rod. Weighs 16 ½ lbs. By Pittsburgh’s most well known maker of that era.
