FINE UNALTERED REMINGTON U.S. NAVY MODEL 1865 ROLLING BLOCK .50RF CAL. SINGLE SHOT PISTOL CA. 1865-6. All original and complete down to the last screw and although correctly not serial numbered all the parts original to the gun. Very scarce in this original form as many altered to later models with shortened barrels and trigger guards added. 8 ½” barrel with “ANCHOR” U.S. Navy Ordnance acceptance proof at the top of the breech. Right side of frame proofed and Ordnance inspected F.C. Warner “P/F.C.W.” Grip with excellent “FCW” script cartouche. Fine metal with soft grey patina. Excellent markings including the Remington address and patent date stamp on the left side of frame. Still has the original rimfire breech block with many later converted to center fire. Sock and forend with the original finish. Working order and superior bore with excellent rifling. Best one we have ever had and with old collection provenance.
