This one is really rather nice. It has no military or foreign language print so we are assuming it is a cimmercial nodel.. More important is the gun's condition, which is really rather nice.
The receiver, hammer, breech block, and trigger guard assembly have started to form a pleasant silver gray patina with really no evidence of any rust or pitting. The exterior of the barrel is a light mixture of a patina starting to appear and a blued area near the rear barrel band than does have small patches of surface pin pricks. The barrel bands have also started to acquire a soft patina. There are no serious rust, or pits anywhere on the gun.
The wooden stock and heat shield are in super shape retaining about 65% of the original lacquer. Not a nick, split or chip anywhere.
The elevator rear sight again, is gaining a light patina and is fully functional. The gun locks up tight and functions properly.
The bore does show some slight wear. The rifling is quite bright with very well-defined rifling with some very slight frosting.
The bayonet shown is no longer available.
The gun is a lovely example of a famous early breech loader. Famous for it's durability and precision. It's would a lovely addition to a collection or a real blast at the range or in a the fielld for the next camping trip or reenactmenta real beauty............$795
