Colt Custom Shop birdshead grip with 4 inch barrel. LNIB, Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are over the top proud to offer this rarest of the breed, the Colt Single Action Army with a birdshead grip. This is it, folks. This is one of the most special Colts you will ever find. Investors, take note. The special features of this revolver will have the value soaring in very little time. Especially, may Lord forbid, if Colt ever closes its doors. I laugh when I see a Boa listed as "only 600 made, price ten grand". Only a handful of these were made, and I will start this one for less than half that price. Not only is the birdshead grip nigh as scarce as hen's teeth, but this one adds a special 4 inch barrel. It also has only the caliber on the left side of the barrel, and the traditional 2 line address on top, just like the 1st generation guns. These were made from standard grip frames, which also bear the serial number of the gun. Some collectors dismiss 3rd generation guns, but this one may change that. Unlike every other Colt variation, the birdshead grip was only produced in the 3rd generation. This beauty was made circa 1996, and is in wonderful condition. The blue is deep and rich, and no one produces case color like Colt. Unfired and unturned, she came to me tethered, and will leave the same way. The box is in wonderful condition, and all the cards, papers, manual, and hang tag make it complete. If you have been looking for the right Colt model of 1873 to collect or for investment, but want something special that few will ever have, then look no further. I was lucky enough to have 2 of these gems, and this is the last one.
