Very Early Henry .44 Rimfire caliber rifle. Made in 1862. Gun is all matching including screws. Very fine all original gun. Barrel is nice and sharp and address is clear. Metal has a smooth brown patina and there is an old coat of varnish on both the frame and barrel. This was a way to preserve the gun. We would guess this varnish is from the early 1900’s. Gun has early features. Very good bore with bright and shiny rifling and just some pitting in the grooves. Very attractive early gun!
