Description:
This transitional model carbine was made in 1937. During that time Winchester was using up old model parts and mixing these parts with the newer style parts to complete new firearms. This carbine has the new style barrel with front sight ramp and hood. The back sight is the rifle style sight with the thumb top elevator. The stock is the older model carbine having the steel smooth curved butt plate. All parts are original to this gun. The nickel steel receiver shows little blue, only in protected areas. The barrel and magazine tube show 95% blue. The bore is sharp and clean. This carbine is chambered for the 30 W.C.F. cartridge. This carbine shows honest wear and use, there is no abuse or damage. This is a nice ranch used gun that shows character! These transitional models were only put together for a very short time and in a limited serial range, these facts make this carbine a real collector item. Search for Harry Viezens on google.
