Description:
Krieghoff K80 BAVARIA SUHL 12 Gauge O/U
BAVARIA SUHL, SCHILLING ENGRAVED, CUSTOM WOOD

General Specs: Krieghoff, Year 2004, 12 Gauge, 8lbs 9oz, Over Under
Serial Number: 40909

Krieghoff K80 has become the most popular competition gun in the United States.  The receiver on the K80 is CNC machined from solid forged steel, then meticulously hand fit and finished by the best of German gunmakers.  Krieghoff makes the K80 12ga. gun in many models, differing mostly in the amount of decoration, the action being the same on there least or most expensive guns.  The Bavaria Suhl is a custom order gun that has 100% full coverage deep relief engraving with game scenes, scroll, and mythical characters, all done by hand.  Some of the work was done by very sought after Master Engravers, as was this one.  Jana Schilling at the young age of 33 was the youngest engraver to be promoted to German Master Engraver in German history.  Krieghoff commissioned her for their 2009 "Gun of the Year" project, their most important work and celebration of the gunmaker's art.  Her work is most sought after, costing many thousands more than work from lesser known engravers.  Her work on this gun is impeccable and tasteful, signed by her near the trigger guard.  The custom stock is by Tom Smith, a noted stock maker for competition shotguns costing nearly $6000 to produce.  With exhibition Circassian walnut and laid out perfectly for volume shooting, flor-de-lis checkering, and right hand palm swell, it is a work of art and stunning beauty.  There are few guns like this offered for sale, and there are only a few light handling marks on the wood.  The metal is in as new condition, and the gun is cased in an Americase that is made for a 2 barrel set, with all of the paperwork, tools, and accessories.  This is a gun that would take a year or more to order and cost many thousands more than this one is being offered for, so you can start out with equity in a fine Sporting Clays model K80.  Few will be seen with this quality of wood or engraving.
