An excellent example of the outstanding and exceedingly scarce Pre War Winchester Model 52 Sporter! The Winchester 52 is regarded by majority as the finest .22 rifle ever created, and the Pre War Sporter version arguably the finest of them all! S/N 36xxx with matching bolt Mfg. 1936. 95% blue with light wear and some faint spotting along barrel. 95% Varnish with scattered, light handling marks to the wood. 100% original condition with no drill holes or other alterations of any kind. Just an amazing piece overall,considering initial assembly over 80 years ago! There are relative piles of post war B Sporters out there, and even a few Cs, but I have only seen a handful of this particular model surface through years of searching. I have sold 2 other high condition examples recently, and this one is not far behind, but priced accordingly. It has a 24" barrel with excellent bore. Mechanics are spot on. There are absolutely NO cracks in rear L shaped portion of action behind bolt (see close up pic) or anywhere else for that matter. Equipped with correct sights including the factory installed, very rare version Lyman 48 peep and Gold Bead front. A Winchester factory 5 shot magazine is included. Also, the original sling and swivels are present and included! Despite this being the 3rd of this very rare 52 Sporter version I have offered over the past year, I am unaware of any others on the horizon so grab it while you can.
