Description:
Sold. Antique Winchester 1886 serial number 102xxx circa 1895. Octagon barrel full magazine. Very good bore strong lands and grooves but shows some black powder corrosion. Still better than most and will spin a bullet great. Wood is good with a couple repairs. Done well. 38-56 cal. Good flat shooting round. This 122 yr old rifle probably put a lot of meat on the table and still could for the next 100 yrs. This round shoots flatter than 45-70 and in 38 cal is plenty for any larger game. Good for hogs. I load a jacketed hollow point and they don't go far. And it won't put your shoulder in a sling.
