Description:
A pair of fencing (dueling) foils or swords with blunt ends- no point and no sharp edge Apparently designed and used for practice( and to avoid killing your practice companion) . Blades are 33 1/2"  and 41" overall. Both have the number "4" on the blade just below the grip (indicating these are a pair) along with  several proof marks. The blades are four (4) sided and straight. The grips are wood with a small leather hand guard. A considerable amount of blueing on the blades remains. . A rare set- not often seen. Probably date to late 1700's or early 1800's

They would look great crossed on your den wall.
