Description:
A nice pair of probably Spanish Rapiers possibly ca 1640. The blades are double edged and 36" long with an overall length of 42". On one sword the grip leather is slightly worn and the leather insert in the cup is missing. The grip on the other sword has a small amount of wire missing- barely noticeable. All of the metal on both pieces shows some staining . Note the "blood groove" on the blades. The overall appearance is quite good especially considering the age of the swords. No names or proof marks are evident. A nice authentic decoration which would look great on your den. wall.
