Description:
A nice Winchester .22cal. pump action rifle made in 1923. It has a 20" round barrel with a tube magazine underneath. All metal has an even pleasant patina with traces of blue. There is no rust. The bore is OK- looks dirty and could use a through cleaning. The wood stock is fine with just a few dings but no splits or cracks. The forepiece is very good. The action is typical Winchester quality, strong and easy to work. The hammer is exposed so it is easy to see when it is cocked and ready to fire. This is a takedown model which makes it easy to transport. The patent dates on the barrel are: June 26, '88,Dec. 6, '92, Nov. 27, '06, and May 30, 1911. This model was made from 1906 to 1932.
In addition to being a fun rifle to shoot- and with ammo we can still afford to buy- Winchesters are rising rapidly in value which should make this a smart investmen.
