Belgian Antique Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun
Fowl Hunting Shotgun Made Circa 1870
Here we present an antique Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, made circa 1860 in Belgium. This would likely have been exported from Belgium to a country like the United States with a thriving market for all sorts of firearms. As people moved West and settled in remote areas, hunting was especially important to put food on the table. This would have been a good tool for fowl hunting. It bears Belgian proof marks on the underside of the barrel.
Condition is fair. Metal is dark and markings are legible. The stock has seen minor repairs. The bores are oxidized. The action is functional, but a bit rough.
