Description:
Lee Enfield No 4 Cal 303 SN 200001 marked on the left socket with matching bolt and wood. The rifle appears to be a very early post war rifle possibly built for Pakistan by (ROF Fazakerley). The unique serial number is located in a place not common to the normal British marked receivers. It may be a serial number at the start of a run. This rifle has a bright excellent bore and 95% plus original finish. The finish is idecntical to the No 4 MK 2 rifles built by Fazakerley in the mid 1950's and shows the hanging trigger. The wood shows usage and storage marks and is mounted with a green and yellow band which may indicate that it was a rifle selected for surplus sale. The rifle is mounted with a grenade launcher which is of the Indian type (no sight) It was also sold from the Faris Collection with a hanging tag marked to one of the army cadet force units in England. This is an interesting No 4 variation that is probably worth further research.
