Sold On Hold Pending Funds / German P.08 Luger "G" date Pistol, code: S/42 Mauser, serial # 557 f, cal. 9mm, 4" barrel with a bright very good bore showing strong rifling and only minor frosting in the grooves. The metal surfaces retain about 92-95% original blue, the loss due to fading of the straps with muzzle and contact point wear and a very small nick on the upper back strap. The side plate appears to be refinished and re-numbered to the gun. The straw parts have mostly toned to a pewter patina with the magazine release and ejector showing to most remaining straw temper. The toggle is marked with an "S/42" assembly code, the chamber is G-dated and all of the visible numbered parts are matching including the grooved firing pin. There is still some strong pale fire temper blue remaining on the sear spring and the toggle connecting pins. The checkered walnut grips rate very good plus with minor flattening of the points and they are stamp-numbered to the gun on the interior. Included is a single blue-bodied, aluminum-based magazine. The overall condition as described and photographed is very good - very good plus.
