As this model was introduced during the worst of the Great Depression, few were manufactured- in fact, here's the number made for each of the first few years of production: 1933- 101 guns made; 1934- 101 guns made; 1935- 97 guns made; 1936- 166 guns made... Needless to say, they are hard to find today! This one has unusually fancy walnut in the butt stock especially that still retains the correct checkered steel shotgun butt plate, tight wood to metal fit, exc. barrel blue, exc. bolt blue, receiver mostly flaked to gray/brown with some good blue in the most protected areas, has period correct Lyman receiver sight with sight blank in the rear dovetail on the barrel, correct ramped front sight, bright exc. bore, tight action, nice screws, one of the hardest Winchester lever guns to try to locate in any condition, this one turned up here in Montana.
