Description:
U.S. Model 1866 Springfield "second model" Allin Conversion. Altered by Springfield from Civil war .58 Muskets, there were 25,000 produced in 1866. These were issued to Army/Calvary units stationed at Forts along the various Pioneer trails headed west. These "Conversions" saw lots of action during the Indian wars. This example is in very good to fine condition with a perfect bore. The metal is smooth and undamaged. Case Colors can be seen in protected areas of the lock plate. The action is mechanically perfect. Very nice example of an early Indian Wars Collectible. Please phone Tommy at (760)-912-3761 or e-mail all questions. $40.00 shipping. Insurance will be additional.
