Description:

WWII NAZI German Marked Italian Carcano 91 Carbine

WaffenAmted, Original Configuration with Integral Bayonet

Here we present an Italian Carcano Model 1891/28 Cavalry Carbine, known in Italian as the Moschetto Modello 91 da Cavalleria, made in Italy, circa 1938. The Model 1891 was designed in that year by Colonel Paravicino, an officer in the Italian Army, and Salvatore Carcano. It was formally adopted in 1892 in the new 6.5x52mm cartridge. During a period of rapid advances in small arms technology, the Model 1891 would prove to be an effective small arm all the way through World War II.

This carbine features a Nazi German acceptance marked stock, an eagle over a swastika. Two other markings on the stock include a large “SY 144” (possibly a unit marking) and “17” in a circle. The left side of the barrel is marked with the serial number and a “Crown/RE”. Under the barrel is mounted a triangular spike bayonet. This is a handy little carbine, with a short overall length and capable chambering. The rear sight is optimistically adjustable out to 1500 meters.

The overall condition of this carbine is near fine. The metal parts retain much of their original blue. Markings are mostly clear and legible. The stock is solid with normal military wear. The bore is well-rifled and clean. The action is excellent. The detachable box magazine is absent. Here is a great piece of Axis Power WWII history.
